Counting the Cost
Planning a new church facility merits the most careful consideration. Before moving beyond the initial idea the pastor and congregation should carefully examine motivations, needs, and objectives from every possible angle. It is wise to recall the advice given by Christ in Luke 14:28-30:
“Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Will he not first sit down and estimate the cost to see if he has enough money to complete it? For if he lays the foundation and is not able to finish it, everyone who sees it will ridicule him, saying, ‘this fellow began to build and was not able to finish."
This Checklist for Church Construction has been designed by Teamway Builders, Inc. to aid the pastor, congregation, and church planning committee in laying a solid informational foundation for the project ahead. While the Checklist is by no means exhaustive, we believe that it can offer some insights into the planning process, thereby helping you avoid many common pitfalls that churches frequently encounter along the way.
If you have any questions about the Checklist or other areas of church facilities construction, we would like to help. Just call or request contact from one of our representatives. Helping churches “plan well and spend wisely” is more than just our business-it’s our ministry.
